The Sword of Hera is a sword wielded by Leah Caverly and forged by Jason Kade. This is Leah's third sword, followed by her glaive and scimitar. The sword itself is a claymore, a traditional cross hilt sword.
History[]
The sword was named for Hera of Greek myth. Hera was a powerful goddess, the wife and sister of Zeus ad the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was worshipped as the queen of heaven and as a marriage goddess.
When forging, Jason considered other names such as Aphrodite (for beauty) or Artemis (for hunting). However, he discarded Artemis as soon as he heard of the ship, and of Aphrodite due to her lack of participation in battle.
Capabilities[]
The Sword of Hera is not only extremely and fatally sharp, but also possesses the properties of Leah's lasso in the sense that there is a feature on the hilt that allows the user to focus ionic energy into the blade, with the appearance of that of a purple lightsaber.
This energy can have the effect of a Taser if directly poked, a concussive Taser if smote, and can of course, potentially kill if one is exposed to it for an extended period of time.
