A Grappling Hook, also known as a Grappling Gun or Grapple Gun, is a ubiquitous vigilante and EPF Agent gadget. As it implies, the hook is attached to a cable and launched from a handheld device.
History[]
The "grappling hook" was inspired by a 17th century Japanese tool known as a "Kaginawa" ("Kagi" meaning "hook" and "nawa" meaning "rope"). Back then, this was used by the Ninja to scale walls.
In modern day usage, the grappling hook device overall uses compressed carbon dioxide to jettison a high-tensile strength polymer cable with a multi-pronged hook at the end.
It allows the launcher to scale, rappel, swing, catapult, or slingshot themselves along structures or across gaps. Much like an elevator, users can ascend or descend, and it pulls them at great speed towards their target then quickly retracts into the device once it is reached.
